AHS celebrates new school with dedication program & ribbon cutting ceremony

ATHENS, Alabama, May 29, 2019 --- Athens High School (AHS) will celebrate the opening of the new high school campus with a special school dedication program and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Athens community on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.


The dedication program will include messages from students, faculty, alumni and other distinguished guests. Music will be performed by select AHS students and the AHS band. Following the official ribbon cutting, guests may enjoy a reception in the cafeteria and take a tour of the school.


The program will be hosted in the front lobby of the high school, and the ribbon cutting will be held in the courtyard.


Athens City Schools invites everyone to join AHS for this momentous occasion as the new school is properly dedicated for the students of today and for generations to come.

For the convenience of our guests, a drop off location will be available at the front entrance. There are four points of entry to the building; guests may enter through the main, north, south or rear/west doors. Guides will be posted at each entrance. A map is provided for your reference:
