Welcome to my webpage!

I am honored to be the Choir Director at Athens Middle & High Schools. I am excited about this school year!  This begins my twenty-second year teaching music education.  During my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to work with the awesome students at West Decatur, Gordon-Bibb, and Frances Nungester Elementary Schools, Brookhaven Middle School, Danville High School, and West Morgan High School.  I have taught general music, middle school band, middle school choir, and high school choir.  I am excited to be a part of the Athens City Schools family.

I am from Decatur, AL and am a Decatur High School graduate.  I attended Lander University in South Carolina where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Music Education.  I moved back home to Decatur, AL after graduation and began my teaching career at the elementary school level.  I taught elementary school music for 2 years and loved every minute of it.  I then transferred to the middle school level where I was the band director, choir director, reading instructor, and student leadership team mentor.  Then, I taught high school choir for 2 years.  I love music and enjoy sharing my passion for music with others.  In addition to teaching, I am also the Worship Leader at the CrossTies Contemporary Service at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle.

I am married to Randy Edwards and we have 3 adorable fur babies; Lucy, Eleanor, and Maggie.  I love spending time with my family, reading, playing musical instruments, singing, and refinishing furniture.
