Mr. Phillip B. Jarmon

Hello! This is my 20th year in education.  I have spent 12 years in the classroom teaching various grades with eight years of experience as an Assistant Principal or Principal. Apart from academics, I really enjoy building positive relationships with students in hopes of teaching students to believe in themselves because they can make a positive difference in the world.  I believe we teach children not subjects, so I spend a lot of time teaching the "whole child," while building a positive relationship with my students. I want my students to LOVE being in my classroom! I enjoy teaching content standards , but I love making a positive impact on a student's life forever!

My wife, Heather, and I have been married for 16 years. Heather is a Speech-Language Pathologist for Limestone County.  We have two  daughters who attend AMS, and one spoiled English Bulldog named Dolly Parton.

Outside of school, I enjoy participating in all church-related events. I dabble in storm chasing and weather forecasting.  I enjoy spending time outside fishing and gardening.  I am an avid Bama and Braves fan!

Please know that it is my goal to make a positive impact on the lives of the students that I serve everyday in this wonderful school system - Athens City Schools! Please let me know if I can help you.
