Hi there! My name is Casey Walker and this will be my second year at Athens High School. I teach English Language-Arts 9 and Honors English Language-Arts 9. Prior to AHS, I taught Freshman Composition 1 and 2 at UAH while earning my master’s degree in English Literature. 

My goal is for my students to be critical thinkers and strong writers by the end of their ELA 9 semester. I care about each of my students and love to see them find themselves in the stories we read all while learning about new perspectives. 

I am the faculty sponsor of Active Minds, a new club at AHS that promotes positive mental health on campus. Our first official year as a club will begin in the Fall 2022 semester. 

When I am not teaching, you will find me spending time outside with my husband either hiking or riding a bike or exploring with our dog, Bowie.
