Kristy Dillard

Go Eagles!

I am in my second year (2022-2023) at Athens High School in beautiful Athens, Alabama.  I taught at Waterloo School in Lauderdale County, AL for 2 years and 6 years at Dallas County High School in Plantersville, AL.  This will be my 10th year as an Educator.  I previously did accounting work as my profession.

I am originally from Southern Illinois where I attended high school at Red Hill High School in Bridgeport, IL.  I have moved around quite a few places since then.  I moved to sunny California, Oklahoma City, OK, and landed in Alabama where my parents are originally from.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education English at Athens State University, Athens, AL.

I was chosen to be one of the four wonderful cheer coaches at Athens High School.  I have learned so much from the head coach and from the girls.  They have been a delight to work with.  We placed 2nd at the National Level in Orlando, FL. for 2021-2022.  We have a great team to take to state and nationals this coming year and we are working hard for that 1st place finish and that "white jacket" award.

I currently teach 11th Gr. English and 11th Gr. Honors English.  I look forward to another great year with 11th grade.

In my spare time, I love to read, watch sports, high school and professional (GO St. Louis Cardinals), craft, and spend time with my friends in Illinois.  I have a lot of adopted nieces and nephews from my friends.  Even though they are not blood relatives, they will always have a piece of my heart!
