Mrs. Myisha Walton

Hello! My name is Myisha Walton and I am a second grade teacher at Athens Elementary. I am a native of Limestone County and a graduate of Clements High School.  I am so very excited about teaching in my hometown. This school year will be my 7th year as an educator and it is my goal to share my love of learning and commitment as a lifelong learner with those in my own community. I believe that learning should be meaningful and exciting. Therefore, it is my goal to educate my students with passion and enthusiasm! I have received my highest degree as an Education Specialist (Ed.S) from the University of West Alabama (2021). My educational career experiences also include: Pre-K/HeadStart, 5th grade, & 6th grade Mathematics.

"Education" is who I am and the classroom is truly my happy place. I love to see students excited about learning and accomplishing their goals. When I am away from the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, shopping, and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide)! I am married to Everett Walton and I have one daughter, Farrah, who attends Athens Middle School. My family and I attend Poplar Creek M.B. Church (Athens, AL), and I am also an active member of the Most Illustrious Sisterhood, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Kappa Phi Omega Chapter).
