Mrs. Kimmy Marlett

Hello, I joined Athens Intermediate School as the new Instructional Partner in 2021. I relocated here with my family from California and am delighted to be here. My husband, dogs and I are settled in Athens and are blessed to be home. My son Nickolas is working towards starting lineman college in the fall.

Prior to coming to AIS, I worked in public education for more than 15 years as an Academic Program Leader, Academic Coach and Elementary Multiple Subject Teacher in grades 4th and 5th. During my time in support roles, I've worked closely with pre-school, transitional kindergarten through grades 5. Before I became a credentialed teacher, I worked at a private Christian preschool.

My role as an educator is extremely important to me. I strive to teach and inspire others, to embrace, encourage and support change, to never give up; especially when faced with challenges. Making a difference in the lives of our children is my top priority. I'm very passionate about helping others and instilling a love of learning in all kids.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my dogs. I really enjoy traveling, technology, reading, kayaking, ziplining, walking, yoga and watching movies. I’ve spent most of my life visiting California beaches and look forward to exploring the east coast. Most recently, I've enjoyed exploring and learning about our Athens community.
