Transportation: Our Purpose

  • Bus

Student Transportation provides safe and compliant transportation for Athens City Schools students in grades K-8. It is the mission of the Athens City Schools Transportation Department, in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, to provide safe and efficient transportation to students of Athens City Schools. Our department follows the Alabama State Department of Education's Pupil Transportation guidelines and best practices. The ACS Transportation Department works to ensure that all bus drivers have the knowledge and resources necessary to provide safe transportation for the students each day.

To register your child for bus transporation, please contact the school where your child is enrolled. The transportation department will send a letter to your home, before the school year begins, that will contain details related to the location of your child’s bus stop, bus stop times, policies and procedures.
