Welcome to Athens High School

  • schrimsher A Message From Dr. Schrimsher

As the proud principal of Athens High School, it is my pleasure to work with the teachers and staff to ensure a positive and rewarding experience for all students. Athens High School is proud of the rich history of academic, extracurricular, athletic and artistic programs designed to benefit and advance student curricular and extracurricular achievements. Athens High School, year after year, is recognized by multiple publications and organizations as “One of America’s Best High Schools." Our teachers and staff believe that teaching above and beyond the standards helps build well-rounded students who are prepared for success after high school. Athens is very proud of our rich traditions, and we look forward to providing the best possible learning environment for all students.

It is our honor to work with the many families and community members that trust Athens High School to educate and care for their students. Our team of administrators, counselors, faculty and staff is always available to meet and discuss school issues or the individual progress of any student with parents, guardians and the students themselves. We are here to support the students’ experience.

To make the school year the best for you and your student, please support Athens High School in any way you can. Consider becoming part of our family and tradition of excellence by joining the Golden Eagle Band, JROTC or athletic booster clubs. Volunteer for help with school events. Join our Parent Teacher Organization. There is a place for you in the community we call "One Athens." We look forward to making the high school experience a positive and memorable one for you and your student. We will be seeing you at our many activities that make high school a great experience. On behalf of the staff here at Athens, thanks for supporting us and your student and making this a great year!

It’s great to be a Golden Eagle!
