I love what I do! I have served as a science educator for nineteen years in private, specialty and public school systems in Alabama. I have taught pre-advanced placement biology, honors anatomy and physiology, 7thlife science, 9thhonors biology, laboratory techniques, AP environmental science, AP biology, dual biology with biotechnology, physical science and homebound science. I am highly qualified, National Board certified and have taught post-secondary at local colleges as well. I feel an educator’s task is to enable their students to perform and succeed in the society in which they exist. I believe the purpose of education is to provide positive, supportive guidance for students. I feel educators should be competent, fair evaluators and capable classroom managers.
I have three adult children that are successful products of the Athens City Schools system. I am very proud of each of them and each student I have taught. I have two precious grand-daughters and a grandson that light up my life. I have two dogs and two cats, all adoptees and abandoned. I am a nature lover and have worked to get our sustainable pond and pollinator garden back in functioning order. I love to travel and share the biosphere. It is great to be home again. I am looking forward to another wonderful year!
