Taylor Whisenant

My name is Taylor Whisenant, and I am so excited to be working at Athens Renaissance School! I will be the K-6 special education teacher this year! I am originally from Limestone County. I graduated from West Limestone High School in 2009. My bachelor's degree is in Elementary and Collaborative Education, and my master's degree is in Differentiated Instruction and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Both of those degrees are from UAH, and I am currently finishing up an Ed.S. in Collaborative Education and Reading from UAB. This will be my eighth year teaching. I have taught middle school special education, robotics, scholars' bowl, and science, and this past year, I taught third grade. Outside of teaching, I manage a LEGO robotics competition for the Alabama region, and I mentor multiple robotics teams. My husband, Drew, and I live in Meridianville, and we are currently working through the adoption process!
