Mrs. Megan Bowie
My name is Megan Bowie and I am so excited to welcome your sweet children into my class this year. Pre-Kindergarten is such an important time to learn through social interaction, hands on experiences, and through play! We will learn so much this school year while having a blast!
I graduated from The University of Alabama in December 2015. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders. A few months later, I had a calling to go back to school for Early Childhood Education. I enrolled at Alabama A&M University and graduted with my Master of Education December 2019. While I was going to school, I worked as a Pre-Kindergarten Auxiliary or three years. My heart and soul belong to the younger ages.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my two cats, hiking, and spending time with my sweet husband! We recently got married during the pandemic.
I fell in love with children growing up attending mission trips and participating in Vacation Bible School. I always knew I wanted to work with children, but I didn't know I wanted to be a teacher. I quickly realized once I started working as a Pre-Kindergarten Auxiliary and quickly decided I wanted to go back to school to be a teacher. My philosopy is that students learn best when they know they are loved. In my heart, and classroom, students need to know that they are cared for before learning can start. Being in the classroom with these children, they know they are trusted, loved, and able to be their bestselves. Once that relationship is established, children know they can flourish in academics. My hope for the classroom is that students realize that they can learn without judgement, establish goals at such a young age, and achieve these goals with the help from their teacher and peers.
