About Baseball at AMS
-
Athens Middle School Baseball enjoys a long and proud tradition of excellence. The middle school program fields two teams - a seventh grade team and an eighth grade team. Middle school ball is under the direction of AMS Head Baseball Coach Matt Stockman. Baseball is a spring sport, and tryouts are held each year in the spring for the following year. As an athlete progresses through their baseball journey, the hope is they become not only a better player but a better human being. Baseball can and does instill invaluable life lessons such as teamwork, work ethic, overcoming adversity, humility, focus and resilience. The mission of the Athens Middle School Baseball program is to develop young men of character, confidence and compassion who are leaders both on and off the field. Our goal is to instill a sense of self that allows our student-athletes to approach all areas of life with the heart of a champion.
