Club de Español

About Us

  •  El Club de Español

Spanish club is intended to expose our children to some basic Spanish language. Being able to speak a foreign language has been proven to improve test scores and boost brain growth in children. Studies also show that when students are exposed to foreign language earlier in life make it makes it easier for them to absorb the information.

In this club, we will dive into some basic skills of the Spanish language. We'll learn things such as basic greetings, days/months, colors, the alphabet, etc. We'll experience a variety of activities including games, books, videos, and projects!

We will meet every other week on Tuesday 11:30-12:00 and Wednesday 10:00-10:30. Students who come to school on Tuesday/Thursday will come to the Tuesday meeting. Students who come on Monday/Wednesday will meet on Wednesday. Our first club meeting will be Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th.

Miss Maggie Chittam

I can't wait to delve into the Spanish language alongside your child!

I took Spanish 1, 2, 3, and AP at Athens High School. I fell in love with the language! I helped in the spring of 2019 with the 2nd and 3rd grade Spanish club at Brookhill Elementary in Athens. I worked alongside an awesome mentor teacher to make a plan for the club. I am so excited to get to expose your child to such a fun language and hopefully, they'll enjoy it just as much as I do!
