Mr. Kipp Cain
My name is Kipp Cain, and I have been working in public education in various capacities for over a decade. My teaching background includes teaching all levels of high school English with particular emphasis on working with senior students. My most recent courses taught include English 12, Dual Enrollment English 101, and Songwriting during my time at Florence High School. I also worked as an adjunct instructor for the University of North Alabama.
I was born in Alabama and lived in a few cities before my family moved to South Carolina for my years in middle and high school. It was during these years that music began to play a bigger role in my life. In high school, I was heavily involved in marching band, symphonic band, and jazz band. I also spent a lot of time playing in my church’s praise band and orchestra. Through music, I had my first teaching experience while giving drum lessons to younger students in the community. Today, I still enjoy playing music in various bands that perform in the Huntsville area.
After high school, I attended the University of Alabama and earned my bachelor’s degree in English. After attaining my undergraduate degree, I moved to Huntsville to attend graduate school and be closer to my family.
Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working with students to help them learn about literature and writing. The most important thing for me has always been to try to use my courses to prepare students for post-secondary opportunities in any field. I am excited about my role as instructional partner at Athens High School! I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside my colleagues in such an impressive school system.
