Mrs. Toni Bailey

I have been blessed with a wonderful husband Jimmy Bailey, 2 very lively children who attend Athens City Schools.

I attended Highschool at Tanner High School and received my teaching certificate from Athens State University. Most of my life has been spent in North Alabama. I began my teaching career as a Pre-K teacher in Decatur, Alabama, but only for 1 year...

I was hired as a First Grade teacher at Brookhill Elementary. First Grade was so much fun that I chose to spend seven years sharing, growing and learning with my first-grade friends. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to see what learning was like in second grade. So I was able to spend 3 years enjoying the world of second grade. While teaching first and second grade I became a certified AMSTI trainer which provided me an opportunity to find that I truly had a passion for math instruction and a deeper understanding of "how" students developed mathematical concepts skills. My love of math led me to become interested in serving Brookhill and Athens Elementary for one school year as Math and Technology Instructional Partner where I was able to partner with students and teachers in implementing and sustaining best practices in math instruction. My love for math and technology created the desire to be part of the implementation of SPARK Academy at Cowart Elementary our STEM Academy. These experiences allowed me to feel like a new teacher.

Currently, I am serving as an Instructional Partner at Athens Renaissance School! My role here is to support the teachers in instruction and help carry out the great work that is already in action.

I began my teaching career with Athens City Schools in 2005 and this is still the beginning of my story. To me this is much so more than a job, it is my life, passion and my ministry! I consider myself blessed to be able to serve my community.
