Hi,

This is my twenty-fourth year teaching, my twenty-first at Athens High School. I am grateful everyday to be part of AHS and believe in the unlimited potential that a good education has to change young lives. I LOVE history and teaching history! An understanding of the present, which is essential to being a responsible citizen, is rooted in a sound understanding of the past. For this reason, I believe that history teachers play a crucial role in American democracy by preparing young people to be citizens.

I am originally from central Alabama and moved to north Alabama to take a job at AHS. My husband and I live in Decatur and are both educators. I love the outdoors, particularly kayaking and gardening. My husband and I are avid campers and love to travel.

I currently teach tenth grade advanced U.S. history, eleventh grade Advanced Placement U.S. history and regular level eleventh grade U.S. history.
