Ms. Lesley Carter
Hello!
It’s time for a new school year at Athens High School, and I am so excited for our upcoming school year! My name is Lesley Carter, and I teach 10th and 11th grade English (honors, grade level, and Advance Placement Language and Composition.)
I graduated from the University of North Alabama in Florence with a Bachelor of Science degree in English Language Arts and Secondary Education. During undergrad, I was a bit obsessed with my school, so I was very involved in a variety of clubs and organizations. Roar Lions! I also still have many friends and ties to the area, so I visit whenever I can. I also completed my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of West Alabama in the spring of 2018. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
I am from Madison, AL, where I graduated from Sparkman High School. When I am not teaching and have the time, I enjoy reading, completing word puzzles, and baking. I have been teaching at AHS since August of 2015.
It is my goal to make learning a positive experience for all students. I also believe that all students can learn and deserve the ability to learn in an environment that encourages them to succeed and equips them with tools for success. I want to see all of my students succeed; therefore, I would like us all to work together to ensure that every student is prepared for the next step in life. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of my students, and I hope we all have a great school year together! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or email me.
