Mrs. Karen Clem

Hello!  My name is  Karen Clem and I am a math teacher as well as the Student Council Sponsor here at Athens High School.  I am very excited because I LOVE to teach math!  This is my 29th year to be a teacher at AHS and I have taught every math course at the school from remedial mathematics to AP Calculus.  This year, I will be teaching Algebra 1A, Precalculus, Honors Calculus, AP Calculus, and the Student Council Leadership class.

To let you know a little more about me, I am married to my husband, Dave,  and we have 4 children:  David, Richard, Emily, and  James. The oldest 2 boys have graduated from college and are busy with their new lives in the work force in Nashville.  Our daughter is in her 6th year at Samford University in Birmingham, AL pursuing a degree as a Pharmacist (she graduates in May)! Our youngest son, James, keeps us busy playing baseball most of the year.

As a math teacher, I want to continue learning how to be a more successful teacher.  One of my goals as a teacher is to help my students achieve success in a mathematics course.  I hope each of my students this year experience success in my classroom and at AHS.  This will happen if students, parents, and teachers work together.  Please communicate with me if there is ever anything I can do to help you.
