Hi!

This is my tenth year teaching English Language Arts at Athens High School.  I have taught English 12 and Mythology all ten years, AP English 12 (Literature and Composition) for the past six years, and Dual Enrollment English 101/102 for the past two years.  I love Athens and getting to work with the amazing students at Athens High is such a blessing.  Although we live in Decatur my son, Caine, attended both AIS and AMS and will be a freshman at AHS for the 2019-2020 school year.  We are both grateful and proud to be Golden Eagles!

I attended the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and graduated from UAB with a double major in English and History and attended law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford. After I married I was lucky enough to stay home with my son for the first three years of his life and then I attended UAH and obtained a master's degree in English Literature and Secondary Education.  Now I am truly doing what I love and what I feel I am meant to do- teaching young people who will make a difference in the world!

When not at school I enjoy reading, listening to music, being outdoors (especially at the beach), and spending time with family and friends.
