Hello, welcome to my classroom! I am very excited to have you in my classroom this year.

I moved to Athens in 2008 from New Mexico.  My background is in nursing.  I graduated with my bachelors degree in nursing in 1996.  I have approximately 20 years experience as a nurse.  I am excited to say I am now a teacher as well as a registered nurse.  In 2015 I began working as school nurse at Athens High School as well as part time teacher in the Medical Academy.  Starting 2016 I transitioned to full time teacher teaching Foundations of Health Science and Medical Terminology.  I have a Specialty Area II Teaching Certificate and am so happy to share my medical knowledge with Athens High School students who are interested in all medical professions.  

I am a proud mother of 3 boys and wonderful husband that keep me very busy outside of work.  The 5 of us enjoy our church, soccer, bike rides, movies, etc.  Our oldest son is a student at UAH, our middle is a junior at AHS and our youngest is at AIS.  Our boys play sports that keep me busy cheering year round.  

I love teaching students at AHS.  I became a teacher to share my medical knowledge with students who are interested in the medical field.  

I look forward to a great year teaching at Athens High School.
