Mrs. Angie Willis

Hi. My name is Angie Willis, and I am glad to be a teacher at Athens High School.

I have just completed my twenty-fifth year in public education, and I have been at Athens High School since January 2008. Prior to that, I taught at Sparkman 9th Grade School and Sparkman High School (both in Madison County) and Holt High School (in Tuscaloosa County).

In 1993 during my first year of teaching, I married my husband, Greg, and we have two beautiful daughters--Lauren, a 2016 AHS graduate, and Anna Grace, a class of 2020 senior at AHS. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, watching college football, and working in my flowerbeds.

I believe that teaching is a calling, not just a job or career. I also believe that all students can learn and that it is my responsibility to create engaging and relevant learning experiences each day. I want to motivate students to experience repeated learning success. I also believe that all students are accountable for their learning and that I can help them engage in this learning process by providing them with skills such as how to study, take notes, and express themselves effectively.
