Mrs. Angela Pettus

Welcome to my teacher page!  I am so very blessed for my journey to have landed me at Athens High School!

I was born in the Shoals Area, growing up in Killen, Alabama.  I spent several years cheering for the Brooks Lions and being involved in my church youth group.  My "claim to fame" was being named 1984 Northwest Alabama's Junior Miss.  I graduated Valedictorian from Brooks High School in 1984 and went on to receive my bachelor's degree in secondary education (mathematics/computer science) from the University of North Alabama.  I graduated as the Keller Key recipient for the highest GPA in my graduating class.  I received my master's degree (Mathematics Innovative) from UNA in 1991. After marrying my husband, Jonathan, we moved to Rogersville, Alabama.  While he was working in Huntsville at NASA, I was teaching in Lauderdale County at Rogers High School.  In December 2003, we made the move to Athens, Alabama.

I have two children, Alyssa and Jackson.  Alyssa works in Washington, D.C. in Senator Shelby's Office as his Press Secretary, and Jackson is a Auburn graduate working as a software engineer in Huntsville.

My hobbies include reading, walking, and cheering on the Athens Eagles and Auburn Tigers!  I am a member of First United Methodist Church in Athens.

I LOVE to teach and work with young people, and I am excited about being at Athens High School!
