Mrs. Kelley Wilbanks

Hi!  My name is Kelley Rigsby Wilbanks! I live in Athens with my husband, Matthew and our 4 kiddos.  I am mom to Jack and Cade and am blessed to be a bonus mom to Sloane and Gunnar.  We have 2 dogs: a Golden Doodle (Brody), a Yorkie Poo (Rudy) and a cat (Lucky).

Our life is crazy busy and SO much fun!  Our children play baseball, football and soccer and our oldest son is in college.  We spend most of our time at ball fields and I’m lucky enough to get to catch some of my kinders’ games and activities!

When we aren’t at our children’s sporting events, we love watching college football and baseball and we travel as much as we can.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a very young age.  I began babysitting at age 13.  I became a nanny at age 16 and also taught 3 and 4 year old Sunday school classes in high school..  I received my Bachelor’s Degree at UAB in Early Childhood Education.

I have taught Kindergarten for 13 years and taught Pre-K for 5 years.  I was also able to be a stay-at-home mom for 5 years.

My first husband passed away in 2015 and I am an advocate for children who have suffered the loss of a parent.

I believe that all children deserve to have a voice.

I believe that all children deserve to be safe and valued.

I believe that, above all, every child deserves to be loved.

My classroom will always be a safe place where each child feels loved and that they belong!

Relationships with students and parents are a priority to me.  I am here for you and for your child and I do not take teaching your child lightly.  It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher!

I can’t wait to begin this school year.

The adventure begins in Kindergarten!
