Mrs. Jesslyn Helton

Hi! My name is Jesslyn Helton and I am the Title 1 teacher here at Brookhill Elementary.

I have been married to my husband for 8 years and we have one little boy. My husband and I both graduated from Sparkman High School and we have been Limestone County residents for about 10 years. In our free time we enjoy RVing to different beaches, "flipping" old homes, reading, and watching our boy play baseball, basketball and race cars. I love to spend time with my family and they mean the world to me.

After high school I attended Martin Methodist in Pulaski, TN for 3 years and finished my teaching degree at Athens State University in 2012. I completed my Masters in Arts, Teaching at Dallas Baptist University in May 2018. My plan is to then continue to persue an Administration certificate. In addition to finishing my Masters degree in May, I also completed my two year training for CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) through the Shelton School in Dallas. This is a Dyslexia Specific intervention specialist certification.

I became a teacher to be a positive influence in children's lives. What a powerful position teachers hold to influence the leaders of tomorrow. It is a job I do not take lightly. I want to be the teacher they remember for a lifetime. The teacher that showed them passion and love. I believe that every student has the opportunity to succeed and it is our job as teachers to understand how students learn the best and willingly teach to their strengths.
