Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Lewis, M.S. CCC-SLP
Hi! I am so excited that you chose to research information about me and my passion for better communication. I am fully certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and fully licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. I also maintain my Alabama Professional Educator Class A Certificate in Speech Language Pathology (Grade N-12). I have provided speech-language pathology services in the public school system for 22 years. I have extensive experience serving individuals with various speech and language concerns.
My Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders was completed at Auburn Univeristy in March of 1995. I completed my Master of Science in Communicatative Sciences and Disorders Degree in August 2003. I also regularly attend professional development sessions required to maintain my certification and learn more about best practices in speech-language pathology services.
I live in Athens, Alabama with my husband, Brad Lewis. Brad is also an educator with the public school system in Alabama. We have three wonderful children. We have one son who is a freshman at Auburn Univeristy this year. Our other son is a Junior in high school and loves playing baseball. Our sweet daughter is a third grader in the Athens City School system.
I became a speech-language pathologist because I truly believe that communication is vitally important to the education and progress of students. Communication can be achieved through various modalities. It is my goal to help each of the students I serve acheive their individual potential.
