Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sandra Chambers
I have lived in Athens for the majority of my life with a few years in Birmingham and Nashville in between. My husband, Greg, and I have been married for 26 years and have 2 boys who are now men. Joseph is married and has a State Farm agency in Pelham, AL and my other son, Braley, is in Seminary at the moment and will marry in October. Our household also includes two dogs, ESPN and Zoey.
I enjoy traveling, digging in my flower bed, and reading. My passion is my church’s mission work in Ghana, Africa and consider myself fortunate to have been 3 times in the last few years. My other passion is teaching reading.
I have both a liberal arts and learning disabilities degree from Athens State. I took additional classes and am highly qualified elementary. Within the last 2 years, I have participated in Orton Gillingham training to teach via multi-sensory methods. I taught for 5 years in Limestone County, stayed home with my boys for 9 years, and am in my 15th year with the city.
