Mr. Paul Parker

Mr. Paul Parker, Sr. is a 1973 graduate of Athens High School who has taught Physical Education with Athens City Schools for 22 years. In addition to his career as a Physical Education teacher, he also currently serves as Assistant Athletic Director with Athens City Schools. Mr. Parker coached football at Athens Middle School for 17 years where the team went undefeated in 2001, 2002, 2008, and 2009. 

Mr. Parker is a 2014 Limestone County Hall of Fame Inductee after an outstanding history as an All-State Running Back with the Athens Golden Eagles. Mr. Parker helped to carry Athens High School’s 1972 football team to the school’s first playoff appearance, first undefeated regular season, and first team to be ranked No. 1 in the state polls. His accomplishments as a student athlete includes Most Valuable Back Award and All-Tennessee Valley Conference. Mr. Parker received a full athletic scholarship to Abilene Christian University and graduated from Athens State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. 

Mr. Parker is a member of the Blue Springs Road Church of Christ where he currently serves as an Elder. He is married to Mildred Parker, wife of 46 years. Together they have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
