Mrs. Beth Anderson

My name is Beth Anderson, and I am looking forward to starting a new school year! I currently teach 5th grade math and science at Athens Intermediate School.  This is my 15th year to teach and my 6th year at AIS.  I have taught kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth grades.  

I graduated from Athens High School in 1999.  I attended Calhoun, the University of South Alabama, and I graduated from Athens State in 2004 with a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-6).  I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Instructional Media through UWA online, and I will be graduating at the end of this school year.  

I have been married to my husband, Nevelle, for 14 years. We have two beautiful daughters- Alyssa is 13 and Ashton is 7.  As a family, we enjoy spending time together, traveling, cooking/baking, and fishing.  

My philosophy of education is student centered, and I believe that each child is unique in their abilities and learning styles.  I try and incorporate a variety of activities in my lessons and create an atmostphere where students feel comfortable to share, learn, and grow.
