Hello, I'm Virginia Malone and I currently teach first grade.  I've taught at Athens Elementary for over 22 years. Teaching has tremendous rewards for both the teacher and the students.  Teaching is a work of the heart!  When children enter my classroom, I want them to know that they can achieve, if they believe.  Each year we learn and grow together by using our creative imaginations.  Although, we may face  challenges, we know that endurance create success. 

I've been married for nearly 30 years to John Malone, Sr. a wonderful and loving husband.  John is the minister of the Southside church of Christ in Rogersville, Alabama. We have three very talented adult children.  Our oldest, John Malone Jr. is also a minister and is married to Lydia Malone. They have a beautiful one year old daughter Elizabeth who's an absolute joy. Our other two daughters, Jasmin and Janae are also college graduates persusing their dreams and aspirations.

Growing up in Montgomery, Alabama I've always had the desire to teach. My hobbies include singing, decorating and traveling.  I love chocolate with nuts, almonds etc. Baking and cooking becomes a relaxing pass time, but eating out is always a fantastic option.
