I am a Mississippi native, but have lived in Alabama for the past 28 years.  I still pull for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.  I am a huge sports fan and love to attend sporting events of all kinds. I love anything outdoors, especially if it is a challenge. I have been an educator for the past 27 years.   I have been teaching at Athens Elementary for the past 23 years. My passion for teaching has always kept my job fun. I firmly believe it is a calling.

I am a 1991 graduate of William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS, where I received my Bachelor of Education.  I completed my Masters of Education degree at The University of West Alabama in 2017. 

I have two wonderful children. My son Morgan is married to Dagan, and they have my newest grandson, Cooper (6 months).  My daughter Mary Claire is married to Nathan. They are the parents of Mary Ryan, 5, and John Thomas, 1. My 3 grandchildren bring unbelievable joy to our family!
