Mrs. Jennifer Farmer

Hello, Friends!!  My name is Jennifer Farmer, and I am the English Language Learner Specialist here at Athens Elementary.  There is no other place I'd rather be than right here at AES!

I am starting my 26th year as an educator and can truly say that I still LOVE working with kids!  I graduated from Athens State University and began my career as a 5th grade teacher with Limestone County Schools.  I also worked as a Title I teacher and a Reading Recovery teacher, which means I specialized in helping students with reading difficulties.  Working with bi-lingual students for the past 13 years has been an amazing experience, and I learn from my students daily!

I grew up in Athens and attended Julian Newman Elementary and Athens Middle School.  I graduated from Athens Bible School.  I met my husband, Chuck Farmer, right here in Athens and we've made our home in the East Limestone area.  Chuck's mother, Jane, is the bookkeeper here at AES.  We love all of the long term friendships we've made in this community and are so lucky to call Athens our home.

Chuck and I have two children.  Conlon is a Forestry major at Auburn University, and Chelsea is a senior at Athens High.  Both kids are proud to be Golden Eagles, and I am grateful that my children have been academically prepared for any career path they choose!  In our family, we have enjoyed watching our kids be a part of AHS baseball and soccer.  It's great to be a Golden Eagle!
