Mrs. Jennifer Farmer

Hello, Friends!!  My name is Jennifer Farmer, and I am the Title I Teacher here at SPARK.

I am into my 28th year as a teacher and can truly say that I still LOVE working with kids!  I'm an Athens State University graduate.  I began my career as a 5th grade teacher and then a Title I Teacher and Reading Recovery Teacher in the Limestone County School system.  I helped students learning English for 15 years at Athens Elementary.  Working with bi-lingual students was an amazing experience that helped me grow my knowledge of teaching in so many ways!

I grew up in Athens and attended Julian Newman Elementary and Athens Middle School.  I graduated from Athens Bible School.  I am married to Chuck Farmer (A Golden Eagle) and we have 2 kids, Conlon and Chelsea (both, Golden Eagles).  We love all of the long term friendships we've made in this community and are so lucky to call Athens our home.

I am so very excited to start my new career adventure here at SPARK!  I have quickly learned that this school has an amazing staff, and the kids, well, they just blow me away!  They are kind, respectful, and hard-working!  I love it here!

Cowart is a Title I school and I am the Title I Teacher.  A Title I school is one that recieves money from the Federal Government.  Those dollars are used to supplement teaching here at SPARK.  Classroom teachers are your child's core curriculum teacher and I supplement or support students outside of the classroom. I work with a team that  identifies struggling students and provides assistance to help overcome academic issues.  We also use those federal dollars to purchase materials and supplies that benefit our students, and sometimes even materials that promote parent engagement at home.
