Mrs. Jennifer Farmer

Hello, Friends!!  My name is Jennifer Farmer, and I am the English Language Learner Specialist here at Athens Elementary.  There is no other place I'd rather be than right here at AES!

I am starting my 25th year as an educator and can truly say that I still LOVE working with kids!  I graduated from Athens State University and began my career as a 5th grade teacher with Limestone County Schools.  I also worked as a Title I teacher and a Reading Recovery teacher, which means I specialized in help students with reading difficulties.  Working with bi-lingual students for the past 10 years has been an amazing experience, and I learn from my students daily!

I grew up in Athens and attended Julian Newman Elementary and Athens Middle School.  I graduated from Athens Bible School.  I met my husband, Chuck Farmer, right here in Athens and we've made our home in the East Limestone area.  Chuck's mother, Jane, is the bookkeeper here at AES.  We love all of the long term friendships we've made in this community and are so lucky to call Athens our home.

Chuck and I have two children.  Conlon attends college at Auburn University and is majoring in Forestry, and Chelsea is a 10th grader at Athens High.  Our family loves sports!  Both kids are Golden Eagles and we enjoyed watching Conlon play baseball for AHS, and, now Chelsea plays soccer.  We also love the great outdoors and were lucky to have traveled to Alaska this summer to hike and fish!
