Summer Meal Program

ACS Summer Meals

Athens City Schools is pleased to offer the 2026 Summer Meal Program, open to children 18 years old and younger in Athens and Limestone County. This program will be available at Athens Elementary, located at 515 North Madison Street, from June 1 - June 18 (Monday - Thursday only). Breakfast will be served from 8:15 AM to 8:45 AM, with lunch from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Dine-in only. First-come, first-served. Pick-up/take-out will not be available. Learn More About Sun Bucks

Alabama SunBucks is a program offered through the Alabama State Department of Human Resources. Students were automatically enrolled if they received Free/Reduced Lunch during the 2025-2026 school year or if your household receives benefits such as SNAP, TANF, and/or Medicaid. Learn more about the program and eligibility at  www.alabama-sunbucks.com. If you have any questions about the Alabama SunBucks program, you can contact Alabama DHR at support@alabama-sunbucks.com or 1-800-443-3536. Or you can reach out to our ACS Child Nutrition Coordinator at tandy.blackwell@acs-k12.org or 256.233.6613.

If you’ve already received your Alabama SUN Bucks card with your child’s name on it in the mail, activate the card, and start using your card to shop for healthy and delicious food once the benefits load! If you weren’t automatically enrolled in the program, you can checkyour eligibility, apply, and learn more at www.alabama-sunbucks.com. For families that receive SUN Bucks cards this year, hold onto your cards! To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
