AMS Summer School Overview

This summer session option is for current Athens Middle School students (grades 6-8) who have not been successful in mastering the content standards in a core course and have earned a final average below 60. This option enables students to repeat an entire previously failed core course
 
  • AMS Summer School will meet in person  June 1 - June 25, Monday - Thursday, from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, at Athens Middle School. 
  • IN PERSON ATTENDANCE REQUIRED.  Failing to attend class on time each day will result in forfeiting the AMS Summer School course.
  • Limited to two courses per summer.
    • Courses are listed in order of importance.
    • The first course must be completed before starting the second.
  • The maximum grade that can be earned in AMS Summer School is 70.
  • ACS Summer Session will use the BrightThinker and/or ACCESS platforms to meet individual student needs.
  • Instructors will be available to assist students from June 1 to June 25. 
  • No digital device will be provided for home use.  The ACS device will only be available during Summer School hours.

  • Honors English Language Arts (6,7,8)
  • Math (6,7,8)
  • Accelerated Math (6,7,8)

Step 3 - Device Agreement

Devices will be provided for school use only for AMS Summer School. Please review and complete the ACS Parent-Student Device Agreement for technology use during Summer Session.
