2022-2023 Student Achievement Accountability

Athens City Schools has a long history and reputation for academic excellence. Student test scores are above the state average and always compare well to the national average. Dedicated teachers and staff, combined with involved parents and a supportive community, contribute to the success achieved by our students. The Alabama State Department of Education recently released the 2022-2023 State Report Card for schools and districts across the state.  The report card reflects components such as academic achievement, academic growth, chronic absenteeism, graduation rate, college and career readiness, and more. ACS proudly earned THREE A's: FAME Academy at Brookhill Elementary, HEART Academy at Julian Newman Elementary, and Athens Renaissance School and THREE B's: Athens Intermediate School, iAcademy at Athens Elementary and Athens City Schools (district).  Please keep in mind that no one score or grade tells the whole story of a school. Athens City Schools will continue the tradition of serving this community with pride and excellence, with our Portrait of a Graduate serving as the North Star as we prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s world.
