    WiFi on the Go is a new program offered to Athens City Schools employees and parents of students. Partnering with T-Mobile, a company called LeanStream is able to make portable hotspot devices available at a special cost to you. To learn more, click here now.

    AIS fifth grade teacher Mr. Neil Turner was selected as the AIS Teacher of the Year! He was honored at the 3rd Annual Teacher of the Year Gratitude Banquet hosted by the Athens City Schools Foundation. We are proud of you, Mr. Turner!!

  • New School Hours at AIS Beginning January 7, 2019, AIS switched to a new start time of 7:50 am and dismissal time of 2:50 pm. All students must be picked up by 3:10 pm unless they attend the AIS LatchKey program. Questions? Email Assistant Principal Mrs. Charles now.

  • EPIC Reading

    To earn a reading medal at the end of the year, the following requirements should be met:

    • 5th graders-  Earn 100 AR points or more and submit 4 book projects
    • 4th graders- Earn 100 AR points or more and submit 3 book projects

    To attend the AR parties at the end of each 9 weeks, students should have completed the following:

    • 1st nine weeks:  15 points & 1 project on their favorite book read during that 9 weeks
    • 2nd nine weeks: 20 points & 1 project on their favorite book read during that 9 weeks (Due Friday, January 11)
    • 3rd nine weeks:  30 points & 1 project on their favorite book read during that 9 weeks (Due Friday, March 29)
    • 4th nine weeks: 35 points & 1 project on their favorite book read during that 9 weeks (Date change: Due Friday, May 24, 2019)

    Students should turn in their projects to their homeroom teacher. Projects are due one week prior to the 9 weeks ending, unless stated differently.
