    Athens has a proud athletic tradition that dates back almost a century. Because of this rich heritage, becoming a Golden Eagle athlete is a goal of many students. Organized athletics offer students a structured group in which to be involved and learn many important life lessons about teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance.
