K-8 BUS SERVICE REGISTRATION 

• If you need bus service for your K-8th grade student, you must sign up through the Returning Student Registration or New Student Registration process. Bus service is NOT available for Athens High School or Athens Renaissance School students. If you would like to enroll your student in Athens City Schools, please click here. If your child already attends Athens City Schools, please complete the 2023-2024  Returning Student Registration process by July 10. Student Transportation provides safe and compliant transportation for Athens City Schools students in grades K-8. It is the mission of the Athens City Schools Transportation Department, in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, to provide safe and efficient transportation to students of Athens City Schools. Our department follows the Alabama State Department of Education's Pupil Transportation guidelines and best practices. The ACS Transportation Department works to ensure that all bus drivers have the knowledge and resources necessary to provide safe transportation for the students each day. 

Register your student for bus transportation during Kindergarten Registration, New Student Registration or Returning Student Registration on PowerSchool. Bus number, bus stop and bus pick-up and drop-off times will be provided to you at your school orientation or please contact your school for details. Bus registration should be completed at least 14 days prior to the first day of school. Please contact your school to make any changes to your student transportation plan.
