Athens cheer teams compete for national titles The Athens Cheer Program is sending two teams of 58 student-athletes to the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida during February to compete for national titles. Community Safe Room at Athens High School The community safe room/storm shelter at Athens High School is open to the public when school is not in session in the event of a tornado watch. Learn more about the AHS Safe Room including rules and location.
Pre-K Registration for 2020-2021 Registration for Pre-K for the 2020-2021 school year will begin in late January 2020. ACS offers two Pre-K programs. One is the Alabama First Class Pre-K Program and the second is the Eagles Nest Pre-K. First Class Pre-K registration is January 15-March 24, 2020. SPARK Academy at Cowart selected as CLAS Banner School was named as the 2018 CLAS Banner School for State School Board District 8 by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS).
