    WiFi on the Go is a new program offered to parents of students and all employees in Athens City Schools. Partnering with T-Mobile, LeanStream is able to make portable hotspot devices available to employees and parents of students at a special cost and offers unlimited data and internet with no data throttling or deprioritization.   • Curriculum Nights for rising 7th - 12th graders.  Mrs. Haynes will be giving an overview of next year's course offerings and explain the registration process.  Both nights will be on the Elementary Campus 405 South Street East, Athens, AL 35611

     

    Monday, Feb. 24th 5:30 p.m. - Rising 7th - 9th graders, which is the current 6th - 8th graders

     

    Thursday, Feb. 27th 5:30 p.m. - Rising 10th - 12th graders, which is the current 9th - 11th graders

  • Bridge Volunteer Sign-Up Opportunities

    ARS NEEDS YOU: 9th 12th grade Students

     

     BRIDGE is our before and after school program. We would like to offer you an opportunity to earn community service hours and other incentives by supervising students at either the K-5 Main Campus (405 South Street East, Athens, AL 35611) or ARS 6th - 8th Middle School Campus (605 South Clinton Street, Athens, AL 35611).

     

    Currently, our biggest need for Bridge Volunteers is Monday/Wednesday for the Kindergarten – 5th grade 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at our Elementary Campus 405 South Street East, Athens, AL 35611.  We will take any students interested in helping at anytime.

     

    Please contact Mr. Phillip Jarmon, ARS assistant Principal if you are interested in facilitating/volunteering for Bridge.

  • Intrepid Scholarship Opportunity for Seniors Are you or someone you know attending The University of Alabama?

    Huntsville-based defense contractor, Intrepid LLC, is offering a scholarship opportunity for currently enrolled students from Madison, Morgan and Limestone Counties, Alabama. But you must act fast. Deadline for the application is December 1, 2019.

    Candidates for the Intrepid Aspire scholarship must be full-time students in good standing and attending The University of Alabama. They must: be residents of Madison, Morgan or Limestone county in Alabama; be of good moral character; be majoring in a STEM or business related major; and have demonstrated academic and leadership ability as well as financial need.

    Awardees will be selected based upon the following criteria:

    • Financial need (and considering other scholarships and aid received)
    • Demonstrated commitment to academics and community service
    • Leadership ability
    • Input from university recruiter(s) and/or university representative(s) 

    All applications must be submitted by December 1st, 2019. Intrepid, LLC (“Intrepid”) will review all applications and announce recipient(s) at the annual Huntsville Rocket City Classic event on December 21st. The scholarships are intended to be awarded prior to the start of Spring semester following the Rocket City Classic event. Scholarship amount may vary each year, and each scholarship is non-renewable. Scholarship funding will be directly credited to the awardee’s school account.
