     Friday, March 5, will be an E-Learning Day for all students.  No classes will be held on campus this day.

    JANUARY 6, 2021:

    This Remote-Traditional Request form must be submitted to Dr. Debbie Elmore (Grades 11-12) or Mrs. Gia Russell (Grades 9-10).

    If a remote student is interested in returning to traditional learning, the next available opportunity will be at the end of the nine weeks in March 2021.  Students should fill out the Remote-Traditional Request form and submit it to the appropriate administrator.

  • Yearbooks 2020-2021 

    Students may purchase a 2021 yearbook for $65.  You may now purchase a yearbook online at the AHS website by credit or debit.  Go to our online payment system where you pay for Class Fees and purchase our yearbook under the General Services tab OR  bring the $65 payment (cash or check) to Ms. L. Carter in room A1164.  If paying by check, checks should be made payable to Athens High School.  Be sure the check has a current telelphone number on it. Students should come before or after school, between classes, or during Connect.  Please do not interrupt class. 

    Yearbooks are usually shipped to AHS in September. An announcement will be posted on this website and put in the morning announcements when they arrive.

  • Willie Moore New Athens High School Executive Principal We are pleased to announce that Mr. Willie Moore has been named the Executive Principal of AHS effective December 9, 2020. Mr. Moore brings more than 26 years of experience in education. Mr. Moore’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from The University of Alabama and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Alabama State University.   • Our New Devices Have Arrived!
    Student Device Distribution Instructions & Fees - November 4, 2020
    We are excited to announce that our new devices for our PowerUp refresh have finally arrived, and we will begin distributing to our students tomorrow morning and will continue through Friday.  This only applies to our traditional students right now, as we will be handling our remote students at a later date.  We will send information regarding REMOTE students soon.  
    In order for students to receive their new IPAD starting tomorrow the following steps will need to be completed:
    1. All parents/legal guardians must complete the following survey for each student:
    Note: Students will not be issued a device unless a parent/guardian has completed the Parent/Student Device Power Up Agreement online form and payment has been received.  
    2.   On the day of distribution students will bring the fee payment. Acceptable forms of payment include:
    • Cash
    • Check (payable to Athens City Schools)
    • Printed receipt from online payment from the following link  ACS Online Payment Site 
    3. Students then will process through the management steps at the school and will then be able to begin using their IPAD at school and home.  

    Reminder of Fees will be as follows:   

    Mandatory - Device Protection Plan Fee to be Paid by Student/Parent/Guardian of students in grades 6-12 at AMS and AHS and students in grades K-12 at ARS*

    Applies to students currently qualified for free/reduced lunches

    *Payment plans may be established if needed prior to receipt of the device. Parents should contact the school office regarding this process.  These fees are required per academic year.

    Students taking the ACT should park in the north parking lot (LOT D) and come in the student entrance.  Participants should wear mask and arrive by 7:45 a.m.

    You will find attached below our Athens High School Athletics Expectations form for attendance at an any athletic event. This form is designed with the AHSAA requirements and our current State orders in mind. Please review before attending an AHS sporting event.

    To purchase your yearly student pass, follow the steps below: 
    Step 1: Secure your student number from your iNow/Chalkable account online. It will start with an S followed by 4 to 6 numerical digits like this S909090.. This number is located on your unofficial transcript at the top. Simply login to your iNow/Chalkable student account and click the unofficial transcript botton on the lower left. Once downloaded, you will notice the number after your name at the top of the transcript similar to the following example: Doe, John - S909090. 
    Step 2: Go to and select "Student All Sports Pass". Then enter your number (S909090) in the promo code section and click apply. Select Quantity 1 and click Get Item on the bottom of the screen to complete the checkout process 
    (you will only be able to purchase 1 pass. Once your card number has been used, it will not be valid again for another purchase.)
    Step 3: Use your phone at each sporting event to validate your pass at the gates when you enter at each event. Remember masks are required.

    The contact information used to message parents, students, teachers, staff and the community originates and is maintained in the AHS Student Information System. This includes primary phone numbers, numbers that can receive text messages, email addresses, emergency contacts and physical mailing addresses.
